Name: Jack O’ Skully
Canon: Original
Canon Point: N/A
Age: 19 [09-Aug-2003]
Heba or Tian? Heba.
Acquired Ability: Superhuman Agility. Jack has the ability to move and react faster than an average human.
Personality Traits:
- Bold and Passionate - Most of Jack’s comrades would describe him as someone who is always full of energy. He got tons of dreams and passions to talk about and you’d certainly see him taking all of them into action.
- Focused and Determined - Once Jack takes on a task, he is certain to see to it till the end in spite of any challenges or blockages.
- Resourceful - Jack always has a way around things. He’d try a thousand ways of solving something before actually giving up.
- Impatient - Jack isn’t used to really waiting for a long time. He’d jump into action once he thought of something. Most of the time though, the attitude causes him to mess things up. He gets irritated pretty easily should he be caught in a situation when he has to wait for something.
- Insensitive - It’s not that Jack always intends to hurt the feelings of others, but one could not expect him to really read the situation. He would often act and speak tactlessly, having little regard of what others might think or feel.
- Stubborn - It’s certainly hard for Jack to be lectured at. It’s almost impossible to break his ideals once he’s at them, in spite of them having some negative impact on others.
- Greedy - Having been raised as a pirate most of his life, his lust for treasures and anything valuable drives most of his actions.
History: Jack was raised by a pirate captain who raided and slaughtered his own family while on sea. Once he learned the truth about his childhood, he planned to take revenge on his own captain but was captured before he could exact his vengeance. The pirate captain however, having developed a paternal connection with him, left him on a deserted island instead where he was rescued by the crew of the Sinking Krakens under the leadership of Captain Burkley Mullins.
Having been impressed by his superb fighting skills, Jack was later appointed as first mate, having replaced the previous one who led a failed mutiny against the captain.
Later on, the crew took on a mission to unearth some legendary treasures on a faraway planet. They enlisted the help of an assassin who left them amidst the mission leaving the whole crew to be slaughtered by a group of armed mercenaries. Jack was able to survive and chased after the assassin who abandoned them.
He was able to catch after the assassin and fought against him but he was later convinced to join the assassin’s adventure instead.
Canon Abilities/Skills:
- Agile Pirate. Jack could act and move faster than an average human. This gives him advantage in most combats, or at least allows him to escape most dangerous situations.
- Sharpshooter. His skills are unmatched when it comes to handling rifles. He could easily take out any moving target even from hundreds of yards away.
- Swordsman. In melee, Jack could hold a sword pretty well. His quick moves could match against opponents who could overpower him when it comes to strength.<.li>
Suitability: Jack is a born adventurer, a really passionate one who would not hesitate to take on new challenges and endeavors. A new world especially, would definitely spark passion into his bold, adventurous soul. Whatever awaits him in this world, who knows. But no one can stop him from creating a legacy of his own.
Inventory:
- Tinkerdrift Gunblade

A weapon, specially crafted by a merchant from Tinkerdrift that functions both as a steam powered gun that shoots bullet shaped ionized lasers, and as a sharp sword, made out of a very light specialized steel. - Clockwork Sentry

Hailing from the settlement of Tinkerdrift, this relic functions as both a shield and a tool to manipulate time. It can trick the user's surrounding enemies into slowing down and could also instantaneously cut the user's travel time from one point to another. Additionally, the relic can automatically reverse the effects of heavy damages against the user. - Stone of Phantasm

A pendant that enables Jack to project an image of himself to fool an opponent. The image can move as ordered by Jack and make sounds with its movement but would immediately disappear upon impact with any solid object.
CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE
What are your character's feelings on freedom? How would they define freedom? How important is it to them? Would they fight for it, or have they fought for it in the past? If they have, how did they go about it?
Freedom is the very feet of an adventurous soul like Jack. He moved for freedom and by it. Caged, one would definitely wish they could handle a raging dragon that wouldn’t stand capture.
Describe a formative moment in your character's life, something that changed them and defined who they are as a person.
Having been leisurely raised by a spoiling pirate captain, Jack initially grew as a spoiled brat who knew nothing but to play tricks on others and delegate his own responsibilities on those who he considers as below himself. Having experienced hardship however, and the need to survive on a lone island, he changed to be a more resourceful person and a determined being who would see through any task till the end.
Rescued by another pirate crew, he was trained further in combat and developed as a ruthless pirate who would turn their back against no one.
Later however, his involvement with an assassin somehow steered his path into acts of heroism though his greed for treasures stayed.
Does your character have a favorite person? If so, how would they describe that person? What do they like about that person? What do they dislike? If they don't have a favorite person, what would they look for in a favorite person? What traits would draw them to another person? What traits could they tolerate that others might not be able to?
There’s no one in his life that he’d look up to, more than Captain Burkley Mullins who rescued him from the deserted island that he was thrown to and who personally trained him in combat. He owed his life to the pirate captain as well as his skills.
What has your character's arc been like so far? How have they developed from their first appearance to their canon point?
As he went on adventuring with the latest mentor he had, he shifted from being a ruthless pirate to a more heroic individual. His greed however stayed, but in the process of being changed.
How would you like to continue your character's arc in the game? How would you like them to develop? What would you like to have them accomplish?
Somehow, Jack had some heroic exploits with the last sort of mentor that took him in. In this world, I hope that he’d be further developed into the good side.
SAMPLES
“Arr, downstairs for dancin’ and upstairs for thinkin’ mate! He’s obviously luring us in. Let’s hide for a while!” Once again, Jack scolded his companion and dragged the puzzled man behind a tall tree.

“Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! Ye’ bastard!” An enraged Jack appeared before his face, almost digging a blade on Shinku’s throat. The pirate's face was fully red in fury, his teeth bared like a frenzied wolf. “I knew yer’ a traitor!,” the pirate continued, as he pulled out a pistol from his left pocket.

I. AWAKENING
The thunderous skies bellowed, harassing the pirates’ ship with its burst of heavy rains. The crew danced with the heavy waves of the ocean, as each pirate hustled to keep the tortured ship afloat.
“We ain’t sinkin’ are we?,” Jack yelled, his voice competing against the rhythmic roar of thunder, his hands fastened at the side of the ship.
“Yohoho! Gettin’ lily-livered are we?,” the quartermaster mocked, his lemony teeth waving at Jack in a wide grin.
“Arrr! This ain’t enough to sink me chest!” Jack retorted, as a sudden squall drenched the quarterdeck, soaking both Jack and the quartermaster.
The quartermaster laughed heartily in response, his hand still firmly planted at the rudder in spite of their tremorous vessel.
“Arrrr! I be checkin’ for our prisoner below deck!,” Jack remarked, annoyed at the quartermaster’s scornful laugh. One of the clock hands in his shield spun rapidly before his form disappeared into a sudden flash of light.
The pirate was used to the shield’s time accelerated travel but what surprised him was what welcomed him at the end of his short trip. Instead of the ship’s lower deck, he found himself sunken at a soft cottony bed.
He looked around, surprised at the number of other strangers that seemed to be just as lost as he was. The serene sensation within him, the soothing music that echoed in the room, and the comfy bed all felt like he was suddenly in a dream.
“Arr! Did I hit my head or sumtin!,” he bellowed before pulling himself out of the bed, aiming to speak with whoever was nearest to him. Before he could speak however, a peculiar sign above an open door snatched his attention.
‘Free Breakfast’, the sign read, which immediately locked his probing eyes. Though a bit hesitant, he couldn’t help but give in to the temptation of a free meal. He walked closer to the door and was immediately captivated with the aroma of various mouth watering cuisines. His eyes definitely registered mostly mushrooms and root vegetables but his senses played him into a couple of delicacies.
Without any hesitation, he immediately helped himself in one of the seats and dug in.
II THE MISSION: INFILTRATION
A couple of other guests joined him as they feasted and drank like drunkards in a tavern. A harmony of munching sounds and laughter echoed around the room, accented by the soothing music that continuously played in the background.
The feast lasted for quite a long time, enough to overly satisfy a famished beast. As everyone settled, stomachs filled with roots and mushrooms, a different tune suddenly played after the soothing music. Or rather a couple of chimes, that caught everyone’s attention without delay.
‘Attention, new recruits! We have a mission for you,’ a pleasant female voice suddenly rang in the room, sending a tingling feeling in everyone's ears.
Have they been caught in a trance? Or were they enchanted? No one knows. All that one could tell was that none of them seemed to object as the female announcer briefed them of their mission. Jack, for one, seemed to follow through each instruction that he was given.
Immediately, he joined the others who infiltrated the sewers weaving through a network of labyrinths as if guided by a single being. Everyone breezed through the tunnel, disarming each explosive and traps that they could find. If there was a perfect mission, this could definitely count as one.
III. THE MISSION: BATTLEFIELD
The mission was a success but did it end there?
Echoes of gunshots and explosions thundered from a distance, suddenly pulling Jack’s consciousness from what seemed like a trance. One moment, he was feasting at a dining table then suddenly, he found himself under what seemed like an underground tunnel, being handed a gun?
“Arr! I don’t need that piece of crap! Can someone just tell me what’s goin’ on!,” he roared before quickly evading a couple of gunshots that flew his way. Pissed off, he retaliated with a shot from his gunblade, immediately downing one of the rebels. Jack then sank to his knees, hiding behind his shield as a barrage of bullets and rockets harassed their group.
“Charge me hearties!,” Jack bellowed as he charged recklessly while protecting himself with his shield. He blinked forward, ending behind a couple of rebels whom he ended with the blade. “Cleave ‘em to the brisket!,” he continued, attacking in a frenzy with his unmatched speed.
He smashed the edge of his shield to the ground, before one of the clock hands started to wind very slowly. In an instant, the rebels around him suddenly found themselves moving significantly slower than they used to. The feat allowed his allies to easily take down most of their enemies, overpowering even those who were almost slaying most of his allies before Jack slowed the time.
A bullet managed to get past the shield and through his chest. He flinched, blood spilling from him rapidly as he retreated behind a wall. Miraculously however, another clock hand in his shield wound rapidly backwards, along with the repair of muscles that were shredded by the traitorous bullet. As if drawn by magic, the bullet itself jumped out of his chest before his wound completely healed up.
He drew a deep sigh of relief before charging back into battle.
IV. WELCOME TO THE BROKEN WORLD
He raised his gunblade to cut a rebel from above but before he could connect, his vision suddenly went into a blur. Gradually, his senses fell into numbness before everything else disappeared into sudden darkness.
It wasn’t that long when his vision returned, yet a throbbing pain pommeled his head like a hammer. He pulled himself up, almost vomiting in nausea, but managed to prevent himself from doing so. He forced his legs to carry himself up, as he barely navigated into what seemed like an empty room.
To his surprise, his gunblade wasn’t in his hand nor anywhere near him. His clockwork sentry was similarly missing along with his usual attire. All he found in him was a pair of plain gray clothings that somehow provided him warmth.
He made his way to the only door that he could see and tried to turn its knob but it refused to open. He kicked the door, punched it with his fist and banged it with his body but all to no avail. He tried to wreck the window instead but even the seemingly brittle jalousies seemed harder than even a diamond.
Regardless, he didn’t stop harassing the walls, along with every part of the room, desperately looking for a way out. He went on for what seemed like hours, or perhaps days, or ages, stubbornly refusing to give up.
With one last push, the door gave in however, it didn’t seem to be through his force but of another that opened the door from the other side. An unfamiliar figure formed in his view outside of the room. He quickly backed off in a defensive stance, eyeing the stranger from head to foot.
"It’s alright, we’re not here to hurt you. Welcome to the Broken World. Come on, we'll explain everything just as soon as we get you and the others out of here," the stranger greeted, extending a helping hand.
Though a bit hesitant, Jack simply followed, having no much of a choice left.
